Repeat Prescriptions

If you need a repeat prescription, post or hand your repeat prescription order form into Reception at least 2 working days before collection. Don’t forget to make allowances for weekends and Bank Holidays. You can also complete the prescription request form at the foot of this page.

Please indicate clearly the items that you require and also whether the prescription is 

1. to be collected from the Surgery (preferably after 11.00 a.m.)
2. posted back to you (by enclosing a stamped addressed envelope)
3. collected by a chemist (give their name and address) - Allow 3 days for this option.

Following a triage (telephone consultation) with a doctor a  prescription may be issued. As it would normally be for an urgent problem you would need to collect the prescription from the Surgery. However if you are unable to collect it we can, on occasions, fax the prescription to a chemist.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
